GAC-X professional astrophotography torch.
I've used a lot of different torches, most of them are for camping or hiking adventures and some have red lights, but they're not professional.
Astro Night's astrophotography Torch made me feel the faith brought by a professional for the first time.
I have used the GAC-X and AX Micro.
The magnet design at the bottom allows me to easily connect to the equatorial mount and the carbon tripod, I can also use the Velcro Kit to help.
The three levels of white light and the levels of red light are very convenient and I can find the right brightness without affecting my shooting of night objects.
I am so happy to have the torch.

I have tested both the NML-C, and the BG-58.
I'm an amateur astrophotographer, but I spend a lot of time under rural dark skies as my own home is too light polluted. Usually I use a cheap eBay red lamp, which has done the job, but these are certainly a step up. Both torches are similar price, but differ slightly in their functionality.
The NML-C has a handy rotating arm, where as the BG-58 doesn't. I found the brightness very similar on both. Verified by the website's spec listing.
Pros: They feel sturdy, and don't feel like cheap units. They are still light enough to not feel cumbersome, and fit nicely into a camera bag.
The incremental 0-100 brightness adjustment is fantastic, visible by a little illuminated screen. This allows for ambient light whilst imaging, and brighter options for pack-up / travel.
The seperate 'torch' mode is particularly handy, and surprisingly bright.

Part 2 of 2
I accidentally left the NML-C on overnight with a low intensity red light on. The battery only dropped 15% (Over 7 hours). I feel you could easily get multiple nights without a recharge.
The clips and hook on the BG-58 are such a clever addition! Very handy to hang off a tripod, or clip onto your belt whilst packing up.
Cons: You have to cycle through the lights to get to red. This can temporarily give you a shot of white light to the face if you aren't expecting it.
With that said, all torches / headlamps i've owned have done this, and i've learnt to simply cover the torch when changing lighting modes.
Summary: I'm very happy with these torches. It's something that seems insignificant when it comes to expensive astronomy gear, but a good torch is such an important utility when you're spending hours under dark skies. Highly recommended.

I have had the pleasure of using a few of the torches from Astro Night and have been very impressed by the build quality and premium feel of the torches.
They have been thoughtfully designed for use with astronomy, astrophotography with the built in white and red light modes.
They are also great for camping or just around the house.
Would highly recommend!
